Le Meurice hits the big screen this summer

Le Meurice, Paris, will be the hotel setting for key scenes in Woody Allen’s new film, ‘Midnight in Paris’.

Starring Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Michael Sheen and featuring Marion Cotillard and Carla Bruni in a cameo appearance, the film premiered at the 64th Film Festival in Cannes earlier this month.

Part of the Dorchester Collection, the iconic hotel is serves as the backdrop in a number of scenes in Allen’s new romantic comedy, including the restaurant, the entrance and suites.

The gastronomic restaurant, pictured above, and entrance of the 175-year-old hotel feature a number of times in the film. The signature suite La Belle Etoile on the seventh floor, which offers panoramic views of the city of light including the Eiffel Tower, is featured in a wine-tasting episode as well.

The story follows a family travelling to Paris which leads to Owen Wilson’s character, Gil, to discover the city by night. The film is due to be released in the UK later this summer.

Le Meurice is perfectly located opposite the city’s Tulileries gardens and within walking distance of most major landmarks including the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.
