La Terrasse pops up in Paris

Pop up restaurant La Terrasse has opened for business on the roof of department store Galeries Lafayette in Paris.

The restaurant – designed by Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku – is a simple outdoor space, boasting stunning views of the city. Food is prepared freshly by chef Fumiko Kono – whose original menu is traditionally French, with a Japanese influence – and you’ll be able to sample delicious macaroons from Pierre Herme.

“The roof of the Galeries Lafayette has been open to the public for many years. In January 1919, a small plane even landed on it,” says M Philippe Thomas, Food and Restaurant Director of Galeries Lafayette, “this extraordinary location deserved an outstanding restaurant inspired from the essence of Galeries Lafayette.”

Dishes include: veal with ginger and soy; monkfish with citronella; young leeks and shiso; and shrimps and steamed vegetables with a honey and sesame sauce.

The restaurant will be open until Autumn. Reservations can be made via telephone, T 00 33 1 73 71 90 50
