Michelin-starred chef heads to Zermatt for ski season

Exclusive ski chalet The Lodge in Zermatt is set to welcome Michelin-starred chef Gerry Kirwan, who will be cooking for guests over the coming ski season.

The luxury chalet – which belongs to Zermatt specialists Mountain Exposure – will see Kirwan cooking gourmet dinners and breakfasts for groups of up to 10, from the end of November until the end of the season.

Kirwan originally won the star when he ran the Commons Restaurant and has since run his own Michelin-rated restaurant in Athlone.

Currently, there are no other Michelin-starred chefs in Zermatt so this will be a perfect spot for guests who want to enjoy fantastic skiing with outstanding food.

Director of Mountain Exposure, Donald Scott, who is also the author of ‘The Gourmet Ski Guide’ says “Gerry has always exceeded our expectations and is leading our team of six world-class chefs in Zermatt and Saas Fee. We are dedicated foodies, and very demanding about the standard of cuisine we provide.”

Prices at the Lodge in Zermatt start from ?260 per double room per night, inclusive of catering, wine and an open bar. For more information see www.mountainexposure.com
