High tea in Chelsea style

In conjunction with this week’s opening of the Chelsea Flower Show, The Dorchester has re-launched its Laurent-Perrier Floral Afternoon Tea to be served in their Promenade – which will itself be temporarily transformed into a garden.

The tea will be available from 2rd May to 29th May. Floral designer Kitty Arden is in charge of the Promenade’s transformation, drawing on inspiration from the Laurent-Perrier Garden at the flower show. Exploring the theme of nature and human intervention, the garden (designed by the award-winning Luciano Giubbilei) will create a romantic atmosphere with maroon, bronze and soft pink tones.

At the Dorchester, excutive pastry chef Claude Lamarche has created two bespoke floral pastries in trubiute: a garden berries tartlet and a Dorchester summer pudding, both designed to pair perfectly with the berry flavour of Laurent-Perrier Cuvee Rose Champagne, glasses of which will be served in specially-designed glasses with cherry-blossom accents.

In addition, the tea will include the usual trappings of the Dorchester’s tea menus: a selection of finger sandwiches as well as scones with fresh cream and jam.
