The afternoon tea for chocoholics

The afternoon tea for chocoholics

This week it’s chocolate week and the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh is offering a truly indulgent way to celebrate, with their new Valrhona chocolate afternoon tea.

Named after one of the world’s first gourmet chocolatiers, the menu is described as a chocoholic’s dream come true and includes a selection of sweet and savoury bites, all of which have that vital ingredient: chocolate.

Guests can start with freshly baked chocolate scones and Devonshire clotted cream. Then they can sample the decadent red wine cake, the Jivara ultimate milk chocolate slice or the pure Venezuelan araguani chocolate tartlet, all served with a cup of Celaya hot chocolate.

And if you still have room, there are assorted sandwiches and chocolate brioche with fillings including smoked venison with plum & dark chocolate chutney and Scottish smoked salmon with orange, chilli and white chocolate mayonnaise.

The hotel is also celebrating its 25th anniversary and will be inviting guests for a chance to win a silver ticket, when they select the special afternoon tea.

The prize will entitle the lucky winner to a silver package, which includes dinner for two with a bottle of Prosecco in the hotel’s restaurant Santini, and afternoon tea with a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne.

Available 2.30pm – 5.30pm until 30 November, from ?19.95 per person. For more information (0131 221 6422);
