We heart New York Restaurant Week

New York Restaurant Week returns today with over 275 restaurants – including Maze by Gordon Ramsay and the internationally acclaimed Nobu – participating over this two-week event.

A diverse range of cuisines will be offered at discounts from the 12-25 July, and diners can sample a three-course prix-fixe lunch menu $24.07 and three-course prix-fixe dinner menu at $35.

Following the success at the last Restaurant Week, and the increasing popularity of street food in the city, a parked lorry will be back serving gourmet soups from the likes of A Voce, Dos Caminos, SD26 Restaurant & Wine Bar and Delmonico’s Steakhouse, for just $6 (about ?4) per bowl.

New York foodies should check the NYC Go website for discounts at participating restaurants and to find out which sidewalks the soup truck will be visiting. The prix-fixe prices exclude beverages, tax and gratuity, and are not available on Saturdays – although restaurants have the option to offer the deal on Sundays.

The Modern Bar Room

This stylish restaurant is housed within the internationally renowned Museum of Modern Art. The more casual of the two restaurants offers diners smaller plates of elegantly presented cuisine. Danny Meyer – the man behind the acclaimed Union Square Cafe and the trattoria at Gramercy Park Hotel – has created a sophisticated space for art lovers and foodies alike.

10 Downing Food & Wine

10 Downing serves Mediterranean-influenced contemporary American cuisine from its trendy West Village address. The atmosphere here is hip, works of art line the walls of this sleek, triangular-shaped building, attracting style-savvy diners to its achingly-cool tables.

Adour Alain Ducasse at the St. Regis, New York

The grand St. Regis Hotel is home to legendary French chef Alain Ducasse’s self-named restaurant. The David Rockwell-designed restaurant is much grander than the Essex House and the food is just as decadent as the building. This time his diners won’t be left disappointed.
