Bjork joins the mile-high music club

Anyone travelling to Reykjavik on Icelandair to see Bjork play at this year’s Iceland Airwaves festival will be treated to a private debut of her new album, Biophilia.

The airline is backing homegrown talent by playing Icelandic music as part of its in-flight entertainment system, even before the albums have been released.

Biophilia – which Bjork describes as a mix of music, apps, internet, installations and live shows – has been premiered on all journeys since 10 October to coincide with the music festival. Earlier this year, electro group Gus Gus also had their latest offering played prior to its official release.

Bjork plays at Harpa, Reykjavik’s new concert hall, this Sunday, as the grand finale of this year’s Iceland Airwaves.

Details of the festival can be found on Iceland Airwaves (www.icelandairwaves.is) and flights available through Icelandair (www.icelandair.co.uk). Find out more details about Bjork on her website (http://bjork.com) or through her management One Little Indian (www.indian.co.uk )
