Take your seats for Japanese week at the Roxy

One London’s trendiest hangouts opens its doors next Tuesday for a special showing of two of the best of films made in Japan in recent years.

The Roxy cinema in Borough is the perfect place to indulge in a spot of laid-back culture and, if you are fed up with Hollywood glamour, a visit next week is a must.

Fish story – showing on 17 August – is made by first-time writer and director Yoshihiro Nakamura and is set in five different time periods, encompassing five different genres including comedy, romance and punk. The second film of the week is Love Exposure – a four-hour epic- which tells the story of two young lovers. Described as unlike anything you’ve seen before, the film deals with themes of lust, love, religion and family. And – perhaps the best bit- you can have a bite to eat and cocktail while watching the big screen as well.

Entry is ?3 cover charge (members have free entry): for more information see www.roxybarandsceen.com
