Two-wheeled wine weekends

Two-wheeled wine weekends

Proving that riding a bike is much more than just a way to get from A to B, luxury cycle holiday company Love Velo has teamed up with Hotel du Vin to run indulgent wine weekends for cyclists wanting to escape the city.

Trips usually run in France, Italy and Spain, with guests cycling through the countryside and staying at five-star accommodation, accompanied by a chef and massage therapist. But now, three new tours will closer to home, with weekends in Brighton, Henley-on-Thames and Tunbridge Wells planned for Easter and summer.

Each UK-based adventure combines a day’s cycling with dinner and an overnight stay at one of the five-star Hotel du Vin outposts. Taking in beautiful scenery and fine wine, guests will get the chance to meet like-minded people and truly get off the beaten track to discover some of the UK’s finest landscapes.

The last summer weekend ride stops at Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells in July, where guests go on a tour of Bibendum vineyard, one of the UK’s leading independent wine suppliers, where they’ll learn about – and taste! – local wines. Back on the bikes (don’t drink too much), the trip continues through Royal Tunbridge Wells before returning to the hotel for a Champagne reception.
