Pistes Gourmandes returns to Val d’Isere

A trip to Val d’Isere makes the ultimate ski getaway for anyone that loves a surreal amount of natural beauty combined with world-class French cuisine. And each year travellers visit from afar to take part in, or simply relax and enjoy, Pistes Gourmandes – a divine gourmet event in the heart of France’s most beautiful ski resort.

Leading chefs and critically acclaimed food journalists flock to the festival, which takes place from 21-24 March 2011, to discover the authentic food, whilst visitors have the chance to participate in food tastings, cookery classes, and gastronomic demonstrations.

Pistes Gourmandes will welcome men and women of all ages from around the world: the famous ‘Golden Spoon’ competition for female cooks sees amateur and professional women battle it out for the title, preparing an 8-person meal in under 3 ? hours.

Representatives from ‘Seed of Toque’, an organisation that aims to teach adults and children about healthy eating, will also be teaching classes and activities such as photography exhibitions, street festivities, ice carving competitions, and vintage wine tastings.
