The Rocco Forte Collection celebrates first resort in Sicily

Renowned hotel group The Rocco Forte Collection will open its first ever luxury resort in Sicily in March.

The Verdura Golf & Spa Resort will join an impressive portfolio that includes The Balmoral in Edinburgh, Brown’s Hotel in London and The Augustine in Prague.

Situated on an undeveloped corner of the Italian island, the resort boasts 1.8km of private coastline, 230 hectares of land, and 203 rooms and suites that have been luxuriously decorated by owner Sir Rocco Forte’s sister and hotelier partner Olga Polizzi.

The spa has a menu of treatments that use local olive oil and extracts of Sicilian citrus fruits. As well as an open-air thalassotherapy pool, there’s a hamman, a beauty salon, a lap pool and a fitness centre. A nine-hole golf course cut deep into the Sicilian countryside makes Verdura a great place for budding golfers, while an 18-hole championship course offers a challenge to the more experienced putter. Guests can also enjoy a choice of no less than four restaurants to dine in.

What’s more, to celebrate the resort’s opening, Verdura has launched a spring promotion, entitling guests who book a stay between 1March and 29 April a complimentary upgrade from bed and breakfast board to half-board, unlimited green fees and a complimentary 50-minute spa treatment for every three nights they stay.

Rates start from around ?355 per night, based on two people sharing.
