London’s new kid on the block

London’s new kid on the block

Luxury Hotel group Dorchester Collection welcome their newest hotel with the opening of 45 Park Lane and its meat-focused restaurant, CUT at 45 Park Lane.

The new hotel is in good company; it is across the road from Park Lane’s famous Dorchester Hotel and other luxury names. The new Mayfair hotel has 45 rooms and suites, each featuring original art by contemporary British artists and offering views of Hyde Park. The Penthouse Suite features even more amazing views across London from its wraparound terrace.

But the real treat is Hollywood chef Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant, CUT at 45 Park Lane – his first in Europe.

CUT at 45 Park Lane is a modern American steak restaurant mirroring the award-winning original in Beverly Hills, known for its outstanding steak, superb wine list and impeccable service.

Wolfgang Puck is the official chef for the post-Oscars banquet and has accumulated quite a following in America including President Obama, Michael Cane and Sir Elton John – so you can expect to see London’s glitterati dining here.

Made for but not limited to carnivores, the menu features prime dry and wet aged beef; salads; pan-roasted lobster and sauteed whole fresh fish. Meat lovers will love the broiled meat – where beef is essentially seared: charred on the outside but rare in the middle.

The new hotel has a contemporary theme with Art Deco inspired dark mahogany, contrasting light colours and soft leather doors. The building’s exterior was transformed by Despont, the New York-based architect in charge of the restoration of the Statue of Liberty, using horizontal metal fins and a vertical wall sculpture.

Prices for 45 Park Lane start from ?395 per night, including WiFi. To book visit or call 020 7493 4545. At CUT, breakfast is served from 7am-10.30am; Lunch from 12pm-3pm and Dinner from 6pm-11pm. To book a table call 020 7493 4554.
