Life is suite at The Atholl

Next week sees the arrival of a new, opulent star in the Edinburgh hotel scene. With just four suites, The Atholl looks set to indulge its guests in classic glamour, making the most of its spectcular Georgian building on Atholl Crescent in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town.

The four suites at The Atholl range from a very roomy one-bedroom at 1065 square feet (that’s slightly bigger than the average UK house) to a huge three-bedroom measuring 3145 square feet, which can make an enormous home from home for visitors that like a lot of space when they travel, or plan to do some serious entertaining. Our favourite is the three-bedroom Abercromby suite, checking in at just under 3000 square feet, and with the added bonus of a hot tub and terrace.

The grand sizes are accompanied by equally grand room specifications and dining. The suites are equipped with elegant dining and living rooms, state of the art Bulthaup-designed kitchens, Bose TVs, Nespresso coffee machines and Penhaligons toiletries. Meanwhile, in-room dining is overseen by none other than Albert Roux OBE, head of the famous cooking dynasty behind such establishments as Le Gavroche.

Roux’s own selection of private chefs will prepare bespoke menus for the guests, and as each suite has its own well-stocked Gaganau wine fridge, there will be no difficulty finding the right wine to match their creations.

Opening on May 1, and just minutes from the Castle, Parliament, Princes Street and George Street, even with their four-figure price tags, we are sure the suites at The Atholl are set to impress…

Prices start from ?1000 per suite, per night on a bed and breakfast basis. For bookings please visit or email
