St Tropez has a new Muse

Celebrity hotspot St Tropez in the south of France is one of the chicest destinations you can head to this summer. Now, the seaside town looks set to get even cooler, as YTL Hotels celebrates the opening of Muse hotel this week.

Set in the midst of beautifully terraced gardens, Muse boasts just 15 spacious suites, uniquely decorated to represent the French muse they are named after. The Edith room, for example, has been styled in tribute to singer and cultural icon Edith Piaf, while the Catherine room is based on Parisian actress Catherine Deneuve. All suites are finished with cool stone floors, mamarino wall finishes, individual spa treatment rooms, walk-in wardrobes, Playstations, iPads and iPod decks.

However, the indulgence doesn’t stop there: the hotel’s restaurant has recruited executive chef Nicolas Le Tourmelin – who is famed for the cuisine he created at One O One at the Sheraton in London’s Knightsbridge- to take the helm in the kitchen, while chef Clement Brun is solely responsible for the restaurant’s unique truffle menu. Diners can expect to feast on a variety of dishes inspired by the slow food philosophy, including red mullet tart with aubergine caviar, Scottish beef fillet with a red wine reduction and salt-crusted sea bass flameed with thyme.

There is also a bar, serving a series of signature cocktails and aperitifs around a sunken outdoor pool, as well as smoothies and detox juices for those on a health kick. Other exclusive services include a Bentley shuttle to the beach, and a team of sun butlers, who are on-hand to administer luxury sun creams into guests skin as and when they request it.
