Worlds highest hotel opens for business

A room with a view is near the top of most guests’ wish-lists when booking a hotel room, and the new Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, can certainly guarantee that. Officially the highest hotel in the world, it occupies floors 102 to 118 in the new International Commerce Centre (ICC) and opens today (March 29, 2011).

As you’d expect, hotel’s 312 guest rooms all offer spectacular city and harbour views from around 490 metres in the sky. Rooms provide state-of-the-art technology including WiFi, iPod docking stations, Blu-ray DVD players and flat screen TVs.

In addition, Club room guests can enjoy the panoramic view from the Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge with complimentary food and beverage presentations 24 hours a day. The Club also gives guests access to a dedicated Club Concierge, work stations, meeting rooms and WiFi throughout.

The world’s highest al fresco terrace is surely a must-visit, attached as it is to the hotel’s Ozone restaurant on the top floor. Contemporary Asian tapas, signature cocktails and a stylish wine list accompany stunning views over Hong Kong. Also on our to-do list is the ESPA spa on floor 116, which has treatment suites with floor-to-ceiling windows offering more panoramic views. An infinity pool overlooking Victoria Harbour can be found on floor 118.

With direct connections to Hong Kong International Airport in just 20 minutes, the new hotel and ICC building promise to become a major attraction for visitors to the island.
