Fashion hits a wall at the Standard

It was obvious that New York is gearing up for the new fashion season last night, as guests at the Standard hotel were treated to a fashion show with a twist.

A collaboration with Target clothing – which showcased its autumn line – the Standard hosted a lightshow and fashion spectacle in over 155 rooms across the southern facade of the hotel, where 66 dancers and models were dressed in the latest style, lighting up the city’s skyline.

A host of young stars turned up for the event, including DJ Leigh Lezark, Mary-Louise Parker, Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley and Olivia Palermo from The City.

“Target wanted to capture the excitement of our affordable fall fashion collections in a way that no one has seen before,” says Trish Adams, the company’s senior vice president. “Using New York City as a backdrop, we’re taking the runway show concept to a whole new level.”
